Isla Canela´s Golf course was designed in 1992 by Mr. Juan Catarineu.
It is situated at the edge of Ayamonte marshlands, at the Guadiana´s river mouth and this fact was taken specially into account to integrate in its route all the “caños” and “esteros” this gives the golf course many obstacles that provides it with beauty and difficulty.
It has 18 holes with a total length of 5937 from the gentlemen´s tee and of 5585 from the ladie´s exit. Isla Canela Golf is a very versatile course, for new players as long as for the great professionals.
The player is able to tackle cach hole in many different ways which makes a funny and rich round. Natural obstacles have been integrated by the designer, so as the dune´s natural shapes.
Isla Canela Golf must be proud of the green´s great quality. We can be sure of saying that Isla Canela Golf offers the best greens in the provinces of Huelva, having a speed of tread it happens of between 10 and 11 in summer and from 8 to 9 in winter, measured to the method Stimpmeter (= greenes rapid).
There is another great advantage that makes a difference with other golf courses and is the orography smoothness wich allows the player to enjoy the round without using the buggy. This is a very important feature for all the players that like the game on foot.
